Composition and form of release

Pharmacological action - anti-inflammatory.
Pharmacokinetics
After taking the majority of the dose reaches the ileum and large intestine (absorption is negligible), where the active substance is released (the dragee is covered with a special coating that prevents absorption in the stomach and proximal part of the small intestine).
Indication
Nonspecific ulcerative colitis; Crohn's disease (prevention and treatment of exacerbations), colitis chronic; proctitis.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity (including to derivatives of salicylic acid), severe violations of liver function, hemorrhagic diathesis.

Side effects
Headache, weakness, bronchospasm, pseudo erythritis, methemoglobinemia, allergic reactions.
Interaction
Increases the toxicity of methotrexate, sulfonamides, furosemide, rifampicin, hypoglycemic effect of sulfonylurea derivatives and ulcerogenic effects of glucocorticoids.
Dosing and Administration
During exacerbations, inside - 0.5-1 g 3-4 times a day for 8-12 weeks; or rectally - 2 suppositories 3-4 times a day (ie, 1.5-2 g / day), in especially severe cases, the daily dose can be doubled. For the prevention of exacerbations - 0.25-0.5 g 3-4 times a day or 1 candle 3-4 times a day.
