Russian athletes have passed 300 doping tests for Meldonium at the moment at the Olympic Games 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, said the Minister of Sport Vitaly Mutko.
It became known that for the use of Meldonium (Mildronate) suspended Maria Sharapova and figure skater Ekaterina Bobrova.
After the report of the independent commission of the World Anti-Doping Agency (the WADA) under the direction of Richard McLaren, stating that the state-operated system for the use of doping in Russia, the WADA recommended that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) suspended from the Olympics the entire Russian team completely. The IOC Executive Board on July 24 decided not to suspend the entire Russian team from the Games, leaving the international sports federations the right to determine who will be able to perform in Rio. The decisive question for the admission of the Russian sportsmen became the word of an independent commission of three members of the IOC.
"Victory of Russian sport built on a vast training system. Now I was told that more than 300 samples for Meldonium (Mildronate) have taken from our athletes (during the Olympics in Brazil). Through these obstacles and successfully even to speak, but we have a day without a medal!"- said Mutko
