Russian swimmer Yuliya Efimova said that athletes, once got on a dope, should be given a second chance.
On Thursday, Efimova won the second silver medal at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in the 200 meters breaststroke. Earlier Efimova missed 16 months because of a positive doping test. During the Olympics the other athletes, such as Olympic champion in the 100m breaststroke Lilly King, stated that the athletes got on doping should not participate in the Games.
"I do not for a drug, never deliberately (it) did not use. There are many cases when you (come across) on Mildronate (Meldonium) by stupidity and naivety; you were given the wrong pills. Should always be another chance, like all people," - said Efimova to reporters.
