Composition and form of release

1 g of the ointment contains indomethacin 50 mg; in tubes of 30 grams, in a carton of 1 tube.

pharmachologic effect

Pharmacological action - anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, analgesic.

Inhibits the biosynthesis of PG (prostaglandins) due to inhibition of cyclooxygenase involved in the metabolism of arachidonic acid.

Pharmacodynamics

It suppresses the inflammatory reaction, depresses the migration of polymorphonuclear granulocytes to the inflammatory focus, reduces the production of mucopolysaccharides, relieves joint stiffness, reduces the raised body temperature, weakens the pains of small and medium intensity, and possesses anticoagulant activity.

Indications

Rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, post-traumatic and other inflammatory joint conditions, tendovaginitis, synovitis, acute gout attacks, phlebitis, Bartter's syndrome, neuralgia, myalgia.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity (including to other NSAIDs), gastrointestinal ulcer, liver and kidney disease, bronchial asthma, epilepsy, psychosis, Parkinson's disease, visual impairment, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, hyperbilirubinemia, pregnancy, lactation (breastfeeding should be abandoned ).

Side effects

Headache, dizziness, depression, psychosis, impaired vision and hearing, nausea, vomiting, bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract, ulceration of the colon, hypertension, vaginal bleeding, swelling.

Interaction

Increases the concentration in the blood and toxicity of gentamicin and amikacin. Strengthens the effects of anticoagulants and derivatives of sulfonamides, reduces - diuretic and antihypertensive (ACE inhibitors, beta-blockers) funds. Ethyl alcohol increases the likelihood of side effects; derivatives of salicylic acid - a negative effect on the gastrointestinal tract. Against the background of Metindol, the content of lithium in the plasma increases.

Dosing and Administration

Locally, apply a thin layer on the affected joints or areas of the body 2-4 times a day and heavily rubbed into the skin.
