Characteristics of the substance Mebhydrolin

White or white with cream-colored crystalline powder. Virtually nerastvorim in water and in organic solvents.

Pharmacology

Pharmacological action - antiallergic, antihistamine, antipruritic, antiexudative.

It blocks histamine H1 receptors, lowers the tone of smooth muscles (bronchi, gastrointestinal tract, uterus), reduces the permeability of capillaries and the development of edema, prevents the occurrence of itching. Weakly blocks m-holinoretseptory, does not cause a pronounced sedative and hypnotic effect (penetrates through the BBB in small amounts). The duration of the effect can reach 48 hours.

Application of substance Mebhydrolin

Allergic rhinitis (seasonal, chronic), pollinosis, allergic conjunctivitis, urticaria, eczema, skin reaction to insect bites; Combined therapy of itching dermatoses.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum (in the phase of exacerbation), inflammatory diseases of the digestive tract, prostatic hyperplasia.

Restrictions

Routes of administration

Inside.
